Confidentiality & Accreditation

All counselling sessions are confidential, meaning what you share is kept private within the therapeutic space. This helps create a safe and trusting environment where you can speak openly during therapy.

However, there are legal and ethical limits to confidentiality. These relate to safeguarding concerns, risk of serious harm, or specific legal requirements such as terrorism-related offences, money laundering, or where I am required to share information by a court of law. These boundaries will always be discussed with you in our first session so you are fully informed.

I also attend regular clinical supervision, which is an essential part of safe therapeutic practice. During supervision, your personal information remains fully confidential and you will not be identifiable. This process ensures I am working ethically and providing the best possible support within my professional role.

If any concerns around safety or safeguarding were to arise, I would always aim to discuss this with you first, wherever appropriate, before taking any further steps.

Confidentiality applies to both online counselling sessions and face-to-face therapy near Pangbourne, Berkshire. For online sessions, it is important that you ensure you are in a private and safe space where you will not be overheard or interrupted, in order to protect your privacy and the quality of the session.
